1- A tailor’s apprentice was traveling in search of work. On his way, he meets a Jew and assumes he must be carrying plenty of money. Out of poverty and desperation, he robs and murders the Jew. Before dying, the Jew says, “The bright sun will bring it to light.”
2- On traveling a little further, the apprentice meets a young and pretty girl and marries her. Years later, one fine morning while having his coffee, the sun shines brightly and reflects the circles made in the coffee on the wall. He remembers the words of the Jew and gasps heavily.
3- His worried wife asks the reason behind his fear. He tries hard to hide the truth but ultimately reveals it and asks her not to tell anybody. His wife is shocked and gossips about this incident to the other villagers. When everyone finds out about the incident they get him arrested and executed.

1- Un apprenti tailleur voyageait à la recherche de travail. En route, il rencontre un Juif et suppose à tort qu’il porte beaucoup d’argent. Par pauvreté et désespoir, il vole et tue le Juif. Avant de mourir, le Juif dit : « Le soleil éclatant le révélera. »
2- En voyageant un peu plus loin, l’apprenti rencontre une jeune et jolie fille et l’épouse. Des années plus tard, un matin en prenant son café, le soleil brille intensément et reflète les cercles formés dans le café sur le mur. Il se souvient des paroles du Juif et pousse un soupir lourd.
3- Sa femme inquiète lui demande la raison de sa peur. Il essaie de cacher la vérité, mais finit par tout révéler et lui demande de ne le dire à personne. Sa femme, choquée, raconte l’incident aux villageois. Lorsque tout le monde découvre la vérité, ils font arrêter et exécuter l’apprenti.
